About Us

We are a Mother and Daughter team, who both have a love of being creative, and given that we are lucky enough to live right by the Sea, we spend a lot of time beachcombing.

Turning those beach finds into jewellery started as a hobby, but as we kept adding to our silversmith skills (and to our collection of specialist tools) we have turned our passion into a small creative local business, specialising in Sea Glass and Sterling Silver jewellery.

Being in Folkestone (Kent, UK) means that not only are we surrounded by amazing views and nature, but also by a community of talented artists. Over the past decade or so, the town has reinvented itself from its fishing and cross-channel ferry roots, to the South coast's creative hub.

From its Victorian heyday, Folkestone became a very fashionable seaside resort for high society, Royalty, and several famous authors including Charles Dickens, HG Wells, and Agatha Christie.  So the creative nature of the town has arguably come full-circle.

A less desirable effect of the growing population in that era however was that a rubbish tip was created by simply tipping it over the sea cliff!  Amongst that rubbish was a lot of glass, and thankfully this discarded refuse was gradually tumbled in the sea over the rocks and sand ...... until years later it washes back up on the beach as Sea Glass and we recycle it as something beautiful, eye-catching and unique.

By spending considerable time beachcombing, we manage to find the best pieces suitable for incorporating into jewellery and other creative gifts. (See here for the variety of items we create).

The nature of the original glass item and the action of the sea over many years produces the infinite and unique attributes that make a piece special - such as its colour, shape, texture, degree of frosting, and rarity.

We only use genuine, time-worn Sea Glass (not artificially produced in a tumbler), as we know that the history of a piece can evoke feelings just as much as its look and texture do.

Who knows, you might end up wearing a piece of Sea Glass jewellery that was once a chandelier in King Edward VII's rooms, or in HG Wells' wine glass!

We also take on commission work.  If you already have a treasured piece of Seaglass (prehaps found during a special holiday, or by someone dear to you) then we can usually create a piece of jewellery from it.

Drilling glass can be risky as it can explode or shatter from the heat generated by drilling, so great care needs to be taken to protect yourself, and the piece.  We have the right equipment and have honed our techniques over thousands of pieces, so we can talk you through the options if you would like us to turn your piece into Seaglass jewellery.

Continuing the creative expansion....

We appreciate that not everyone wants or 'needs' sterling silver jewellery.  (Crazy huh?). But they often still want to purchase a nice gift for friends, family or themselves.  And so that's why we constantly develop new sea-inspired creations to expand our range of gifts, across all price points and a variety of styles.

For example:

  • Bangles with Sea Glass and Semi-precious beads

  • Greetings cards, with Seaglass Seabirds etc

  • Seaglass Suncatchers

  • Sea or Flower based Resin gifts, incl bookmarks, seashell ring holders, etc

  • Seaglass Log-slices for Christmas decorations

  • etc, etc

And then we branched out further....

Being inspired by nature is core to what we do, and we have become big fans of Crystals and Stones. Whether you are a believer of their healing & energy powers or not, they are beautiful to look at, and the smooth versions are just so nice to hold!

We have a growing collection of Crystals and Stones, and being creatives at-heart, we also incorporate some of them into decorative centrepieces.

Due to the delicate nature of some of our pieces, we reserve some for our physical store locations, so if you don't see what you want on this website, then do come visit us.  (See here for locations).
